Livestreaming is broadcasting of audio and video simultaneously in real-time over the Internet. It is often referred to simply as streaming. Non-live media such as video-on-demand, vlogs, and YouTube videos are technically streamed, but not live-streamed.

 

In principle, going live does not cost you anything. Social networks do not charge you an extra for going live. You only need your landline or mobile internet connection and a computer or smartphone. There are additional costs if you want to include additional technology, like cameras, lighting or microphone. Also, streaming platforms charge a monthly fee. However, these are not necessarily needed and most of the networks allow going live through their own apps.

Everybody can go Live. Business and Thought Leaders of all kinds can go live. You can run your own business and to inform and inspire your employees, you can reach out for existing and new clients, you can be coach, network marketer or fundraiser of a nonprofit organization. Relevant content to share, your purpose story and personality; These are basic ingredient that make a live video successful.

 I am Daniel Schwenger, a digital marketing specialist and YouTube Influencer in Geneva/Switzerland.

I worked as a broadcast journalist in Radio and TV. From what I learned myself, I know that everybody can present live in front of the camera with ease and confidence.

At least 10 to 20 minutes are considered good practice for going live. This ensures people have enough time to join.
